Jackie Chicalese is a Ph.D. student in Composition and Rhetoric at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. As a writer, teacher, and scholar, her interests include writing pedagogies, community literacies, and the intersection of creative writing and composition studies. Her scholarly work has been published in Writers: Craft & Context.
She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Arkansas. She writes about her home in northern Appalachia, illness, and gardens. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Gulf Coast, American Literary Review, Poetry Northwest, and elsewhere.
