Originally from coal-country Pennsylvania, Jackie Chicalese (she/her) is a Ph.D. student in Composition and Rhetoric at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She currently serves as Graduate/Research Assistant to the Community Literacies Collaboratory and Brown Chair in English Literacy at the University of Arkansas, where she earned her MFA in Poetry.
As a writer and teacher, her interests include the intersection of creative writing and composition studies, community literacies, and ecopoetics. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Salt Hill Journal, Gulf Coast, the Greensboro Review, Southern Humanities Review, and elsewhere.
She lives with her spouse and two cats, Calypso and Penny.
