Jami Padgett (she/her) is currently an MFA student in Poetry at the University of Arkansas, hailing from the mountains of North Georgia. She works as an instructor of record for the university as she pursues her degree.

Poetry editor for the Arkansas International, Jami finds her own work most interested in memory, mental illness, and myth, peppered with pop culture and Southern landscape(s). Recently, her poems have also been quarreling with her late-diagnosed neurodivergence. She has been published in Booth, Nashville Review, and Poetry Daily.

She holds a bachelor’s in Comparative Religious Studies from Young Harris College, where she graduated summa cum laude. Although formally an English minor, she ended one class shy of a creative writing double major. When she’s not writing, she’s trying her hand at learning a new language or new artistic practices—that, or watching horror movies with her partner, the poet Emma Thomas Jones.
